Yes. It is a problem if you run out of cash in Camotes. It is best to be prepared and know where to find banks to withdraw your cash. Rural banks are available but in these times, ATM’s are now acknowledged and well-used to have your cash.
It’s a good idea to bring enough cash with you for your trip, just in case you have trouble finding an ATM or the ATM you find is out of service.
ATMs can be found in some of the more developed areas on the islands, such as Poro and San Francisco. Some of the banks with ATMs on Camotes Islands include BPI, Metrobank, and Landbank. Keep in mind that some ATMs may only accept certain types of cards, so it’s always a good idea to check with your bank or credit card company to see if they have any recommendations for international travel.
The only ATM in Poro, Camotes Islands that are readily available is just near Poro Port, located on the other island of Camotes. If you are in Consuelo, San Francisco, you need to travel around an hour and a half to get to this ATM, and is available at a scheduled time. It’s available from 9:AM to 3 PM. Saturdays and Sundays are closed.
And that’s a problem.
